Pelan Pelan Streetwear is a fashion brand based in the Netherlands. We are a small buisness that produces every item manually and carefully with love for craftmanship.
Pelan Pelan is owned by Mae, a young dutch mixed-asian woman who feels like she belongs with neither the dutchies nor the indonesians, but rather somewhere in between. Like a lot of us tend to do. We know some phrases such as "Pelan pelan", "Selamat makan" and "Sampai jumpa lagi", but don't really speak the language. We grew up with our parents' or grandparents' delicious cooking, but some of us might have never been to the islands it came from.
With this brand we want everyone to feel included. Whether you're 100% indonesian, a mixed indo, or not indo at all, but you just love the culture. And as you might know, "Pelan pelan" means "Take it easy". Because we believe everyone should do that a little more.
